while having a look at the seams on the 262, this happened:
Image
it fell, but somehow, I got my hand in the fall, so damage is a only slight
Maybe I should see it as a sign for today, to better take care of other things than modelling?
Hey, my flat looks a mess, maybe I should tidy it up a bit for the next week?

my trusted method of using silver as primer, shows some bumps left, but nothing too bad - a little more sanding TBD, then a final coat....

I had not seen this before - trying to improve the Airfix 262 is either a labour of love or a delve into insanity! I admire your efforts to improve it though - anything done will be an improvement!

Thank you! Yes, anything done on this kit is an improvement! I still enjoy working on it, mostly, because I dont take the build seriously, I just go with the flow, follow my whims.
I chose to paint the canopy with some self-mixed transparent blue, to hide a bit the patched-up look of it
Image

and i simplified the framing on it a bit, so this is a bit "what-if"

Silver as a primer looks very revealing. Good idea. Thanks.

now cobbling together decals from my stash, for an all-silver Czech bird, PL-01, with a red flash on both sides of the fuselage....
Ha! I remember that I got red flashes for a Soviet MiG-15, N° 384, that are included in almost any MiG-15 kit out there, and I got that decal option three times (got some several MiG-15 kits in the stash...), so why not sacrificing one of these for this going-to-be Avia S-92, then
...and that "PL-01", I cobble together somewhere else, or paint it

Excellent work on the 262, especially considering just how poor that kit is! 😕
Best wishes

cannon muzzles were re-opened, my method of covering them with plasticine, and then to pry them, after the painting is done, has worked again

Image
the hard-to-remove seams inside the nacelles (they come, as usual, in a left and right half) were covered up with several layers of clearfix, which bolsterd the very skinny shock cones as well

Image
about ready for decals now

That is certainly a big improvement on a very basic kit.

Now I compare my lightning bolt decals with pictures of the real thing
Image

Image

that´ll do, for the tips of the bolts, I´ll use some paint
