Sorry to hear that the Hercules has been binned, never a happy moment but sometimes it's just best to cut your losses...
I hope you can get the Hurricane over the line (it's looking very good indeed) and get a bit of enjoyment from that 🤞
Best wishes

Same here. It´s a good kick in the nuts when parts fall off inside a sealed fuselage. Really unlucky.

Sounds like the Herc was not to be. Better luck with the next kit Stuart.

That's a real shame about the Albert, Stuart, I never like to read of member's builds going awry but sometimes it's best just to cut out, although it's difficult to do, as it's not worth the stress - the hobby is supposed to be about de-stressing and enjoyment after all. On a brighter note, the Hurricane is looking good.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Sorry to hear about the C130. That being said if a model strays so far from being fun, it seems fine to bin it to me. Don't want to make a hobby a chore or work.
The Hurricane is coming along nicely.

Thanks Gents - tbh there was a lot wrong with that build that I wasn't happy with, I'd messed up a lot in the cockpit, the clear parts, the rear doors etc. and that's before I messed up the painting and then the debacle with the IP and windscreen. I'm not sad at it's demise - it was useful experience in building bigger kits if nothing else. What I have done is ordered a replacement kit :-D

The Hurricane is finished however - pretty pleased with this one. Zvezda 1/72 painted with Humbrol acrylics. This is the first kit I've painted solely with Humbrol Acrylics for a loooooooooong time. They were okay, the improved 2nd gen thing seems true, although I do hate those bloody stupid dropper bottles - bring back the screw top pots!

Decals were xtradecal's Fighters of Africa and the Med. The aircraft is from number 1 sqn SAAF, North Africa 1942.

Thanks Andy - much appreciated. It's not a bad kit if you ever get your hands on one, although obviously its Zvezda so not everyone's cup of tea at the moment. Buying it did support my LMS though so I'm happy with that.

Thanks David! Yes I quite like the desert scheme although I've like to do a SEAC Hurri-bomber next.

Nice Hurricane. What's the story with the 'oops!' on the rudder?

C130 binned!!?
Yikes!

Zvezda Hurricane, eh? One of those Snap-tite kits? Turned out very well. I built the 109F; quite nice detail.

Cheers,

At last a completion! Good looking Hurri for the collection Stuart. It definitely suits the desert scheme.

Very nice, Stuart.

Did you spray or hand paint the Humbrol acrylics? They finish looks nice in your photos. How robust/not are they?
