I might well ask for another table at Telford

Re: Kit's SMW 2018 builds
Tail boom of the Mi-22 is now ready for re-scribing after many rounds of FSR. For a sense of size, that's a Super Cobra beside it
Forward fuselage of the Su-24 done now.
Main gear bay done and installed. The Gunze grey is very similar to the grey of the plastic.
Forward fuselage of the MiG-31 done too.
Parts for the left intake on the Mig-31.
Both intakes dry fitted in place.

Cheers Adam.
The new Trumpeter Nanchang Q-5 has joined them on the bench, pretty quick build to get to this stage.
Now painted and ready for decals.

I've been a bit slow picking up on these builds, Kit and you are doing great things here. That Trumpeter Q-5 is really coming to life with the decals on and with that good looking panel wash.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Wow that Q-5 really went fast!
I have the Zvezda SU-24 Fencer, I'm guessing the Trumpeter kit is more detailed but what is your opinion on both Kit?

Re: Kit's SMW 2018 builds
Thanks guys. The Q-5 is a lovely, if simplified, kit. Adam, I'll get back to you on that. I'm sure I saw an article on correcting the Zvezda/Dragon/Italeri kit (all the same mould). I'm sure it involved some cut and shut but it looks like an Su-24 to me so I wouldn't go that far.
Anyway, just to prove I'm not neglecting the Mi-22 ( although I could gladly hide it in a box far away from me) , here she is with the fuselage together.
An Il-28 in front to show the size. Now for a marathon series of FSR. If I had to sum this kit up in two words it would be NOTHING FITS

Yes Daz, very much so. Filler on now, looking like a badly iced cake
On saving grace is that the plastic is quite thick so can take a good bit of sanding
