I'm a possible for Peterborough and Cosford but definite for Milton Keynes, Weston, Thornbury, Biggleswade, Old Sarum and hopefully Telford.

August could be tricky as a certain major life event is now happening :-D

Yes mate, we went to Peterborough. The town was nice (Mrs D and I spent the entire weekend there) but the organisation of the show left a bit to be desired. They gave our tables to another SIG so I had to beg, borrow, steal an extra one and the subsequent shape and position of the display didn't really work for us. I can honestly say that it was the most difficult set-up that I've ever done and it took ages. Also, communication from the organising club wasn't all that good either. On the good side the models on display were first-rate and there was a good selection of traders and under-table sales.

Next year will be something that we'll have to have a serious talk about.

UPDATE

Well, we all made other plans assuming that, because everything had gone quiet, the Coventry Show wasn't happening and I've just now received an invitation from the organisers.

So, I'm afraid that the Coventry show 2019 is off the list. Apologies to anybody who was planning on going but the SIG can't attend.

Hi
I would like to draw your attention to two competitions.
01-02.06.2019 in Poland/Krakow. This year at the Home Army Museum. Yes - there is an international airport in Krakow, it is one of the best aviation museums, there is a beautiful old town and hundreds of monuments and one of the best places to do exhibitions and events - the Home Army Museum located in an old brick fort. The event lasts two days.
The second competition - June 8, 2018 at the Aviation Museum in Slovakia/Košice. A few steps from the airport in Kosice :) The event lasts one day.

Thank you for the information Przemek. Poland may be a little too far to bring a full display of models but I'd certainly like to visit Krakow and if I can time it when there's a model show then it's even more incentive.

Ever so sorry Daz but its been bought to my attention that work will not allow me the time off for Cosford.
A last minute change of rota has dashed my hopes of attending.

That's a shame mate. Some employers can be really inconsiderate like that. Don't they have to give you adequate notice of rota changes? IIRC six weeks is required.

Daz,
I will be going to Telford. If I have anything in my meagre collection that is of interest you are welcome to use it. I have models going to various SIG displays (last year the hardest part was remembering where I had lent them!).

Write a list !! I put post it notes on each box of what is in it before I leave home and where it is being loaned BUT. I don't leave the boxes with each Sig and then when it is packup time I can take each box back to the respective table to collect items and I know what I am looking for ... at least get them all home sort of Inthe same order as they travelled on the Friday.
