Re: Stocked up on modelling supplies
Father's Day was yesterday and my family was very generous
I did drop some extraordinarily heavy hints, mind....
I forgot to factor in that I don't have the right air hose so I've just ordered one so I can start airbrushing using a compressor, rather than the USB setup I've been using so far.

I needed to stock up on run of the mill colours, I either run out or they go off. I also bought the thinners in the hope that it'll help stop the airgun clogging up.
It's only pain, work through it.

Re: Stocked up on modelling supplies
I've just bought two bottles of the Tamiya Airbrush Cleaner as there are several videos on Youtube demonstrating that is is pretty much the same stuff as the Quick Drying Extra Thin Cement which I have posed alongside in my photo. The point to be made is the Cement is around £3.50 for 40ml whereas the Airbrush Cleaner is £8.42 for 250ml. As I am a recent convert to the Extra Thin Cement and more importantly the wonders of homemade Sprue Goo, this 500ml should keep more going for quite a while. Note - the Cleaner was bought via Amazon and comes from Italy in my case as it is not stocked or sold directly in the UK apparently.

Doesn't sound right, cleaning an airbrush with cement

Re: Stocked up on modelling supplies
My intention over the coming months (years??) is to improve my weathering skills, especially with regard to aging and deterioration of vehicles. To that end, I'm looking at a variety of products aimed at this process and the latest batch arrived this morning....
The three dropper bottles are acrylic weathering fluids (so many are enamels...) from an online railway modelling supplier (RAILstuff), likewise the tub of pigment powder, the two smaller bottles are from Mig-Ammo and are 'rust reactor' fluids for use with their 'U-Rust' system, and finally the box is a rust system from Deluxe Materials.
I have yet to try any of them yet, but will report back as and when via my workbench thread...

Some Bondic UV glue arrived today.
I'm looking forward to trying it out on rigging and transparent parts.

Re: Stocked up on modelling supplies
Why is it you never find out you need something until you come to actually use it? On that basis, I ordered paint I needed for the current El Alemain GB and I also decided to try the Deluxe Glue and Glaze as I don't seem to be able to get really good results with other glues.
It's only pain, work through it.

Re: Stocked up on modelling supplies
Well, my wife knows how to do birthday present, that's for certain!
The detail and finish on these pieces is amazing! Resin is definitely the way to go (not filament) when it comes to modelling!

Nice! I've recently picked up a few of these colours too - for the same reason. Can I assume these are destined for your Meteor David?
