New member in Newcastle
Hi all,
Back to modelling after 45 years - thankyou Covid! Back in the day it was anything RAF - Spitfire, Mosquito, you name it I probably made it. Now I've switched to railways, so working through the Kitmaster range with a lot of kitbashing involved. Here's a few photos of the efforts so far. Still trying to master airbrushing.
Cheers,
Mike

Welcome Aboard!
We do have rail folks here. I have a number of Kitmaster locos and coaches - any explanation of your kitbashing of same would be most welcome.

Hi Mike and welcome to our little bit of cyberspace. Not a railway guy myself (though I do have the Deltic in the stash) but those look stunning.

Welcome aboard choo-choo!
Lovely to see someone else building the Kitmaster kits. The Classic British Kits SIG that lives here on the forum did a special display for Scale Model World show a few years ago. Have a look here: https://uamf.org.uk/viewforum.php?f=294

Welcome to the forum!
Evening Star has always been a favourite of mine and there is a kit lurking in my stash somewhere to build one day! Looking forward to seeing more of your builds

Welcome Mike. Beautiful job on those locos mate. I have several of them myself as I use them as "statics" on my loft layout. I like your handrails on the Mogul. I have brought the wire and the eyelets but haven't gotten around to using it yet - too many other aircraft kits to build first unfortunately! I also intend to build the 9F kit one day to practice my weathering techniques!

Hi Mike and welcome, the trains look great. It seems that Covid brought quite a few of us old (young when we last made them) modellers out of the woodwork.

Hi,
Thanks for all the welcomes - they're much appreciated. Been pre-occupied with snooker and one or two other bit's and bob's. There's now a Drewery shunter and a flush glazed railbus, but I guess this isn't the right place to put them really. Being a newb where's the best place for them? I'll put in some details on the kit bashing too.

Hi Mike,
Nice work on those Kitmaster Locos. I have been making them since my early teens when I was on holiday in Devon. The PECO shop used to sell them. They filled out my train set a bit. I have started collecting them again and have quite a collection, now, including some very nice TT Kits. They were very good when moulded in hard plastic, so it's good to find some originals from Ebay and model shows.
