Her Majesty’s Skyship HMS Hyperion by gnomemeansgnome
A project that I started back in 1996 or 7. All from scrap materials (paper, cardboard, plastic etc) except for the airscrew and the gondola. The aether gas envelope is essentially a small plastic flower vase (the pointy end) and a cigarillo tube glued together plus various bits of wound guitar string and tape. Done in the key of Space:1889 steampunk. Now toodling along in formation with other scratchbuilt craft. Enjoy!

That looks great - very well imagined, built, and displayed.

Hey, a cross breed tween a zeppelin, and a sailing vessel! Well imagined, and executed
makes me think of something from a Jules Verne novel :-)
I keep on playing with some ideas, how I could create one imaginative model....(with a backstory, perhaps?)

Waiting for the day, when wars for territory will be something to be read about in history books only.

Thanks, gentlemen! I was kind of aiming for a Jules Verne theme, so mission accomplished.

Wasn’t there a Doctor Who with sailing ships in space?

Impressive. In the best steampunk tradition, except... where's the guns (zap or otherwise)? One of Her Majesty's Skyships can't go abut unarmed, y'know. Who knows what Johnny Foreigner might try?

With Peter Davidson IIRC.
I remember a Pirate Ship and a Clipper, seem to recall a Greek galley as well. Think it was a race by "Q" type beings who 'borrowed' the ships and crews from Earth's history.
