Boeing GB *** Complete & Archived ***
An offshoot of the Over 50's Club chat thread, here's a thread to discuss a possible Boeing GB. Subjects would be Boeing products and not products of companies bought out by Boeing in the recent past - ie no F/A-18s, for example.
We do have an open slot for this year's GB calendar for May 27 to July 9, so we could have it then, or if that's too soon for folks we can save it for 2024. And I'll need a volunteer as GB Leader, please!
Any takers?

Re: Boeing GB
I've an Airfix Skykings 707 to build so definitely in for this. Happy to be GBL if it doesn't conflict with the Vintage Classics GB
Best wishes
Jim

Re: Boeing GB
Well, there'd be an overlap of a week, so.....
I'd be in with a classic Yellow Wings, pre-War fighter, the P-26.

Re: Boeing GB
I'll be a 'maybe'
A 707 or a P-26
Any date might suit me
Its just a matter of what else I have on at the time
How does a Boeing Stearman Kaydet fit in?
Stearman became part of Boeing in 1934. Almost all the Kaydets were built by Boeing
I have Kaydets in 1/72 and 1/48

Re: Boeing GB
I'd allow it - I think the desire is to not see McDonnel Douglas products as that company has its own distinguished history that we should also celebrate sometime in the future. The 'Boeing T-45' and 'Boeing 717' and 'Boeing F/A-18' have never sat well with me, and others.
Therefore, products of the smaller companies that were part of the same group as Boeing from 1929, such as Stearman, would be OK. Companies such as Sikorsky and Chance-Vought, would not.
Yeah, complex and perhaps arbitrary, but those companies also had distinguished design records of their own.

Re: Boeing GB
mmm, on that basis, reclassify me as a positive. Its time I made a dent in my 1/48 biplanes. I've no real interest in the 707

Re: Boeing GB
I'm up for this. I'm going to do the 707 in the Over 50's build but I'm sure I can find something suitable before May.
Best wishes

Re: Boeing GB
I didn't expect you to work so quickly on the suggestion but it seems popular so why not. As for me, I have to think of a suitable candidate.
It's only pain, work through it.

Re: Boeing GB
I've been thinking about the time slot; for me, this year, I'll probably go cold on this if its next year
