So can I put you down as another probable? How started is part started?
Put me down anyway please Stu - if the 1/48 is considered too far started I shall source another one for the GB, but probably in 1/72.

I have:
  • A C-130 kit
  • RAAF decals
  • A tendency to over-commit to GBs

I reckon I'll join ya.

That works for me. Allows time to go shopping at SMW for aftermarket bits.

Lol! Well yeah, I guessed that! :-D

How about sometime before May, to fit around David's annual migration North!

beany wrote: August 6th, 2023, 1:27 pm I've got a part started 1/48 Italeri C-130J that I will propose at the start of the GB. I've never been inspired by the grey US scheme markings it comes with but I'd very much like to do the green RAF 50th Anniversary scheme. I cant find the decals in 1/48 so may have to buy a 1/72 sheet and enlarge it on my printer onto white decal paper. Some of the larger areas on the tail may have to be painted on instead.

I have been temped by these, not sure if the sheet is still available?

These decals were only released in 1/144 and 1/72, not much out there for 1/148 C-130s unless they are standard schemes.

Very nice - that's the same kit as the one I have. :-D

Paul, what's the process now for getting this on the Calendar for next year? I'm thinking the March/April timeframe if that is okay with everybody else?

First - based on what others think, I'll decide how many GBs we will have; then we'll work out what GBs they will be. This one is a definite goer based on the numbers. Third - we can haggle over dates once we've decided what will be included, but I'll keep your preference in mind.

I'm also thinking this might be an 8-weeker, given the size of the models involved - your thoughts on that?

Sounds like a good plan!

8 weeks sounds good - I was thinking we might need a bit longer.
