Annular Solar Eclipse

Post by PaulBradley »

We had an annular solar eclipse here this morning. Although we weren't in the path of totality, we did get 90% coverage. So cool!

It stared about 8:30am; here's a shot at around 8:45:

Max coverage of 90% at about 9:30am:

Great pics.

It just peaked here but only about 50% coverage. We used a somewhat less sophisticated setup - a piece of cardboard with a pinhole - but it worked just the way they taught me in Junior School.

Nice one. An eclipse is always worth a watch!

Cheers, guys! There's a total eclipse going across the southern and eastern US next year - not close to us, but we should get 70% coverage then.
