Very sorry to hear about your son's sleep issues. What happens when he's unable to sleep?
He has to be watched constantly when he's awake, so someone (usually me) has to stay up with him. Otherwise he might do something potentially dangerous, such as falling downstairs, or even wandering off.. We have the house as safety-proofed as possible, of course, but even so.

In good news, he slept much better last night. Whew!

I'm attempting to rig the radio aerials today.

Rigging done. I had to use a bit of PE for the rudder mounting.

There are some paint blemishes to correct, and a bit of silvering on the wing walkway stenciling to fix.

Then it's pastel chalk dust time.

Chalk applied!

Rear view mirror needs adding. I might also need a bit more matt varnish in a couple of places.

Looks just right I think.

That looks very nice indeed Andrew. A very interesting choice of scheme with those leading edges, I like it.

Glad to hear the little has had a better night.

Looks great Andrew. That is one seriously scruffy Spit in the IWM photo - I take it you won't be going for quite such a beaten up look?

No, it won't be quite that bad, but I'm drawing some inspiration from the general wear-and-tear look. I may leave the model as it is now.

Thanks Ralph. I like the larger canvas to work on, but I can see lots of unsatisfactory bits!

The last part has been glued in place - the rear view mirror.

I've also tried to make the wing root look more scuffed by lightly brushing a bit more aluminium paste over it. I think that might do for this one.

It has certainly come upm a treat Andrew. Worth the effort I'd say.

I did a bit of priming on the Sea King undersides, but this has not gone well. Some greasy bits stopping good primer coverage. I'll have to strip it with IPA tomorrow.

Meanwhile, I'm also building a Brengun Typhoon, as Henry Talalla's JR300 in Normandy.

More details here:

Big sprue gates, a bit of flash and prominent mould lines. Fairly typical of a limited run kit.

Looking online, there seems to be a serious issue with the "Car door" canopy, so I thought that I'd check it out.

Gappy! (Autocarrot tried to sneak "Guppy" in there)

Uh-oh!

It doesn't sit straight on the centreline!
