1/48 Airfix Spitfire XII

Post by Britwit »

I decided to try Airfix's Spitfire. It seems less finicky and stressful than the Eduard one I was wrestling. Here is my progress....moving along nicely.

Built that one when it first came out. Loved it. You are making great progress

Last part on the bottom before I paint. Masking and painting next.

I love a good clipped wing spitfire. As much as a full wing.

I look forward to seeing paint on this one.

It is the best Spitfire kit I have ever built, started building 60 years ago. The fit is almost equivalent to Tamiya, biggest downside is the engraving is a tad deep but not at "Matchbox level". I have the camouflage paints except for medium sea grey, just ordered that color and it should be here sometime early next week.
