1/72 Focke-Wulf Fw-56 Stösser / Heller 80238

Post by KellerModeller »

Hello all,

the last kit I bought at the LMS before it closed in 2021...
And one of the few I directly built after buying :-D

Simple, but beautiful, especially in that scheme. Did those markings come in the kit?

Yes, the scheme was added to the newer releases of the kit. (I built the 2015 release)
The decals were completely resistant to setting solutions, no matter how long I soaked them in decal solution. On the plus side they were so strong that I could repeatedly handle them with my fingers while switching to the "embed in clear" method 😀.

A type not seen very often, but a graceful design and a superb model.

Elegant apart from the flared legs which are a little more elephant 😉

This is from the Heller kit? Looks very sharp for something of it's vintage.

That is a fine looking FW-156, KM and a great example of the interesting types that Heller used to put out.

Many Heller kits from the 70s are very nice and build up very well. This is a good example.

Did Heller provide that black square logo for the tail?

No this was in fact provided by "MS Paint" :-D , the original pictures have the "evil sign" in that place. To avoid any legal or social issues in Germany and also to avoid fruitless discussions about the sense or nonsense of banning it from pictures, I just put myself on the save side and made i unrecognizable. I think the kit contained them as a "puzzle"...
