1/72 Me-410 Hornisse / Italeri 074

Post by KellerModeller »

Hi all,

this is the Italeri Me-410 Hornisse, started around 1999, finished 2020 (that's quick, isn't it? :-D ).
Some parts were missing and had to be scratch built, but it was still almost complete after all those years.

This is how I picked it up again:

This is the result:

Thanks for looking

I would call this a perfect restauration. Great work!

I would call that a slow build - but it was worth the effort!

8-) Very elegant build of an elegant aircraft KM. I've always rather wanted one of these.
The past, present, and future walked into a bar. It was tense.

Very nice indeed. I built that Matchbox kit a few years back and thoroughly enjoyed it,
Stuart Templeton I may not be good but I'm slow...

It's a great looking model , did it need much filler,I don't have much luck with Italeri kits.Nearly every one needed filler.☹️

I must confess I don't clearly remember about the amount of filler, I assembled it in the very early 2000s, so I'm not sure enough now to give a recommendation or not for this kit, sorry.. I remember the 109s needed some filler probably due to their modular approach to represent multiple variants.

Great recovery there KM - I really should do more early Luftwaffe aircraft, brush painting the later ones is a tad challenging!

That was one of the reasons for choosing this scheme... :-D
Airbrushing the late war schemes is a little challenging as well, and the challenge in this case was already restoring the old kit

Yet another first class resto from you, KM, that is a great looking Hornisse. I also find the late war Luftwaffe schemes featuring mottling a challenge and I'm an airbrush user.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Work is the curse of the modelling classes!

Thank you ☺️
Seems I am doing more restaurations than building kits from the beginning to the end...
But surely this way my stash will become smaller...
:-D :-D somewhen....
Yeah ok probably this will not be the case...
But it's fun and I heard somewhere that's what a hobby is about 😁
