New Tool Airfix Mustang 1/72nd

Picked up the new tool Airfix Mustang from the LMS yesterday and thought I'd share sprue shots. First impressions that it looks good, up to the standard of the current Airfix new tools and panel lines seem slightly less trench like than the earlier ones.

One scheme for a Tuskegee Airmen P-51D

i'd be tempted to mask and paint it rather than use the decal.

Looks great, especially the plug in exhaust pipes and lock together wing tabs for dihedral. But those tanks look a bit on the large size to me - if the prop is 12 feet in diameter the the tanks could be approx 6 feet long. Could they be a post WW2 load out? And the fabric on the rudder?
Still, the aftermarket will speak.

Yeah I need a few of these as well. I was at my LHS the other day and they didn't have any of these yet.

A few of these (and the forthcoming F-51) will live in my stash also.
