Oh hang on, was I suppose to build something as well? Lets drop half of the stuff above then.

Not at all Stuart, but my wine racks are almost empty at the moment and my bar is overstocked, so need to empty something from there to make room for more.

Not in the least Stuart, but always remember- wine that you make yourself is so much stronger than the shop bought stuffSir T wrote: Do I sound terribly up-market if I suggested wine.....

Haha yeah.. Blitz.. I'm not sure it will happen but will see how far I come. Luckily it's a one color scheme.
I do not have a drill, so made this hole with a knife. Got the camera lens in place, there's some fine little detail on them, but not easy to see. I would never have gotten the camera lenses off the "sprues" if it wasn't for my very nice saw cutter. Took forever to saw through. Thick stuff!
Several bulges needs to be removed, here's I've sanded away three, one left. A tedious and boring job. Camera lenses in place here to, same as above, made holes with knife. As long as the holes look round I'm pleased.
Finally got the fuselage together. Not easy with these MPM kits, no pin holes, and fit is so so (but nowhere near as bad as the fit on MPMs Fairchild I'm building, you'd think the wings belonged to a different kit!). I was thinking of using superglue but found it easier to use normal glue, put it together, on with clothing pegs and then adjust. Hopefully any half wont move while drying. Also had remove lots of the cockpit sides/bits for the halves to fit.
Camera houses and new bulges in place. I didn't put the lenses in here as they are very tall and I would have sanded them lots to fit. No patience for that, I will put some clearfix over the holes.
Gonna have some dinner and then a beer to follow me for the next build stage.

Those camera blisters look interesting. I am looking for something like that to do a post war FAA Hellcat. How long are they and what diameter are the camera ports in them, please, Sissel?

They're 3,0-3,3mm in diameter and 2mm long/thick.
Tried with superglue to force fit wings to fuselage, but didn't work very well. Result; superglue all over me fingers.
Have put putty (putty put put put) almost everywhere. Trying Vallejo putty for once here. Seems to dry prutty putly (quick).
While we wait...

Re: Sissels Norwegian PR XI
A little more work. Most of the Vallejo putty fell off when I sanded. Maybe it needed more drying time?
The back tip of air intake broke off getting it off resin sprue. Need to fix that somehow.
Stretched some sprue for antenna, as I have most likely by accident put it in the bin, who's content is now long gone.
Broke the saw cutter!
Need to get a new blade. Used a bit of force trying to cut something, lucky I didn't cut myself! Cause the bits went flying and carpet monster ate them, haven't found them yet. No barefoot walking in the room!
So that is it for today, spilled some coffee on the bench as well. No more modelling today.
It turns out our Easter guests aren't coming tomorrow due to some tragic news in the family, which means I don't have to be finished by then, have plenty of time now. No stress!

Bad luck about the saw. Hopefully that beer made you feel better.

Never underestimate the power of beer.Clashcityrocker wrote:Bad luck about the saw. Hopefully that beer made you feel better.
Thanks. My first try with that beer. And it was... uhm... weird. Pretty sure that was my first and last purchase of White Dog.MDT wrote:Thats looking rather fine. I like the sound of White Dog beer too!
Whoo. Just got home, and it's the usual thing before Easter. People drive and shop like they're mad. I don't think anyone's gonna starve the next days.
Anyways, I'm ubertired, and need some sleep. However my father has persuaded me for a hike to the mountain cabin. When I'm home later today, and hopefully more awake I will continue the build.
Just hope it's disaster free today!

Re: Sissels Norwegian PR XI
The antenna I made is a bit too thick, but will have to do. Lenght is 9mm as adviced, but should be 0,3mm thickness. I don't mind.
Canopy frames free hand painted as usual.
There's a grey ring on the spinner, so this will be attached after Spit is done painted. Will most likely happen on Friday.
