Love that spinner, a very steady hand needed to get that looking right.

Thanks Tom, a few swigs of local beer were certainly a help.TomW wrote:Love that spinner, a very steady hand needed to get that looking right.

Not got round to any pictures but I've done a fair bit of sanding and I'm narly ready for the painting stage - this will be after completing a week of night shifts so it will be at least next Saturday before I get anything significant done. I'm just releaved the schemes are quite simple as I'd be cutting things a little fine...(not that its stopped me in the past!)
Re: A Pair of Peeping PRs
Well, famous last words and all that! I ended up picking up some extra shifts at work due to the 'wonderful' spring weather and today as my only day off all I've managed is to get a coat of Hu230 on both (plus one!) Spits. I'm back on nights tomorrow so I see what I get done in the morning. I can see a bit of blitzing on Monday the 1st as I finish nights that morning!
Re: A Pair of Peeping PRs
As I'm in a state of day-time insomnia I'll attempt to post yesterdays painting session-
The current state of the Swedish AF Spit -
...and PS915 -
This is still going to be a close call!

They look great MDT, you seem to be over the hardest part now.
What blue did you use? It looks spot on.

Looks really good. They all do!
And I have to agree about the spinner, very well done. Not easy to get little rings right.

Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...
Re: A Pair of Peeping PRs
Cheers OT and Prisca, its Hu230 and it seams to have sprayed quite well.Old_Tonto wrote:They look great MDT, you seem to be over the hardest part now.

Sorry, no time for pictures today as I'm off to work in a bit but I've added PVA to the underside camera ports. I didn't use the kit part as I had fit issues and it fell out on my first attempt at this kit. The plan for the small amount of time I have tomorrow is to slap on some Klear so I'm decal ready for when I get up after my night-shift Monday PM.
Re: A Pair of Peeping PRs
Current Blitzbau state-of-affairs!
Nearly ready for decals...
All props. tail planes and u/c parts are painted ready to be attached so I should just about get finished this evening.

Re: A Pair of Peeping PRs
I've pressed on to get the Swedish AF Spit completed -
The worst aspect of this issue of the PR.XIX is the decals. They are thick with poor reaction to decal fluid. If I ever build another I'd go aftermarket for decals.
I'm still completing decalling of PS915...

Re: A Pair of Peeping PRs
It's close but I've can now declare PS915 completed...
I really rate the 1/72 Airfix PR.XIX kit itself but I hope the decals are upto the standards of the latest releases. It goes together easily and I feel it captures the rather more brutish look of the Griffon powered Spit.
