Here is the box art still shrink wrapped:

Back in the day these were good kits (some of them) Looking forward to the camo scheme although now they are in grays.

Can't start until December 1 due to being away from my home/bench but I should be able to get it done on time.

Never built this one myself but I recall it was regarded as being pretty accurate when it first came out.

Glad you opted for the camo version - not too keen on the grey jets.

Thanks O-T.

@Chris. I have a bunch of Scale Modeler magazines plus quite a few special editions that I put in a binder. Love to dig them out and peruse.

As far as the decals go, we all know the worn out phrase "Google is your friend." :-D I also know that they lack "stick 'em" so Future will be used to tack them down.

Yep, ESCI decals always looked good on a sheet, and had no intention of staying on your model without help.

Or even WITH help......

Had this one many years ago - built it in the grey scheme, which is why I still have those yellow/orange decals.

Love Esci box art, the cross hairs make it look so dramatic. Never built one though, will follow closely.

Is this the same kit as the Italeri kit?

Had a very pleasant evening on the bench last night.

Worked on sub-assemblies:

The wonderful delta-wing:

A little paint on the cockpit. ESCI bang seats are really gommy:

The instrument decals will be put on over wet Future following another coat of Future to seal them. The glues are not very useful on ESCI decals.

Progressing quickly. Are you planning to put on all 3 drop tanks?

So now the airframe is all together. It is a very rough kit as you can see from the filler used. I had a great fit on the starboard side wing but a large gap on the port. I ended up make a spreader out of sheet styrene the bow out the left side for a better fit. Basically it worked. Now I need to get to work on the seams.
