Posting a link to someone else's sprue shots just doesn't hack it...

Re: Ians stocking surprise!
I know, Andrew, I know. But people have expectations and not being one to let people down I felt I didn't have a choice.
For me, Christmas and New Year are normal working periods (we work 24/7/365) so what days off I have had have been spent with Mrs. Ian and the little Ians as it's very rare for us all to be off at the same time - so we've made the most of it. Because of this I haven't even had time to glance at my bench, let alone sit at it!
Tuesday will be my first day when everyone else is at work or back at school so that will be the day I make a start.

Re: Ians stocking surprise!
Sounds like you work in something like retail Ian as do a couple of my family members - they never get much in the way of holidays at Christmas and New Year. There's a fair bit of time left in this GB yet, although not enough time for me to finish anything, naturally
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Re: Ians stocking surprise!
Ok, can we please leave Ian alone until he finishes walking to his bench, finishes opening the box, finishes taking pictures and finishes uploading them?

Can't say which company, though but I can give you a clue because, as we all know, every little helps.....

They're here! Pictures as promised!
The plastic -
The canopy and masks.
The PE and film IPs -
The decals -
And the resin -
I've never used resin parts before and I am gobsmacked at the detail!
Lord only knows how I am going to paint all that detail! I guess I'll find out tomorrow when I make a start!

OMG, he posted pictures!
** Sissel faints **
Ehem, on the more serious note; looks a great kit and have fun with all that resin.

Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...

Oh wow, the bits are out of the box and very nice they are too, what a gift
I presume it's now finished though, did it assemble as well as it looks?

Re: Ians stocking surprise!
Yup. All done. But as I had it all compelted so quickly I has disassembled it again and stripped all the paint off and have started again.
I've removed most of the cockpit resin from its pouring blocks and cleaned up where required. As it all wants to be black I've assembled most of the parts. Still need to add the headrests and IPs as well as all the PE, then I can think about closing the fuselage.
No pics. Batteries died yesterday and I'm at work today (and tomorrow).

Re: Ians stocking surprise!
Amazing how much you can get done in a couple of days, isn't it?
The tub. Loads on resin in there!
The IPs. Resin, PE & film. Not well centred but acceptable for a first time.
Wings, wheel bays and lots of filler.
A nicely masked canopy.
And then the next step, adding the IPs
And just how the hell am I going to get that in there!?!?!?!

With some degree of difficulty
Sorry not very helpful. Looks like something needs to be cut somewhere.
Bit of a pain when that happens, enthusiasm drains away quickly with me.
