Re: Andrew's Prezzie: A Christmas Jug
Another very quick modelling session - just enough time to spray matt white paint on the primed areas
Almost ready for canopy painting and undercarriage
Cheers

The leading edges look a bit tatty on close inspection. They might pass at normal observation distanceBlohmWolf wrote:Smashing work Andrew, looks right on everything so far.

Re: Andrew's Prezzie: A Christmas Jug
It's been a terrible week time-wise, and I need to get the decals on and canopy painted. I've snatched a few minutes here and there, but not had a long enough time at the bench to work on the Jug.
This weekend is not looking promising either - 2-5 mm of freezing rain promised tonight and tomorrow morning. That means entertaining the kids inside
Cheers

Re: Andrew's Prezzie: A Christmas Jug
Katie very sportingly looked after David this morning while I did some decalling
The Aeromaster decal sheet calls the underside insignia "oversize".
I had to trim them to fit!

Nice checkerboard patterns on the inner wheels, which fit perfectly.
A bit of splitting and disintegration on top of the F unfortunately.
The red step markers are from the Hasegawa sheet. The starboard one split too!

Except the very end of the gunbarrel at the nose.
Which fell off!
The stencils are almost invisible, so I only put one on!
Cheers

The bits for underneath. Large fuel tank and two bombs. These come from the Revell kit. The Hasegawa bombs are much chunkier, and you don't get the large belly tank, despite the boxart showing it!
The gun barrels have been rubbed with a soft pencil to give them a subtle metallic look. So subtle that it's difficult to see!
Cheers

The carpet monster has eaten the canopy!

Your carpet monster seems to prefer canopies

Re: Andrew's Prezzie: A Christmas Jug
You should try putting down a flat white base at the foot of your workbench. It's helped me save plenty of canopies+tiny pieces.
Nice work still with decals.
