It turned out very nicely with the Zoom photoetch, some effective scratchbuilding and some nice painting. Cracking job!

Sea Fury joint checking in progress:

It's brown because I was putting a second coat of English Uniform Brown on the Hurricane:

And the interior of the upper part of the Eurofighter was primed yesterday and painted with Light Grey Blue to match the cockpit tub.

An excellent little scene that one, and the Eurofighter looks good.

The Eurofighter gets more bits added. There's plenty of room in front of the cockpit tub for the 7 grams of weight.

The tail is not a great fit. The wing, fuselage and inlet region is going to need some smoothing!

And now for something silly.

Image

Pink silly putty (old Easter stock going cheap on Amazon!) for masking.
The Hurri has now gone for the dark green coat.

And the Hurricane is back from the Paint Shop.

Image

The silly putty comes off much more easily than blu-tack.

Image

A little touch up needed on the underside of the tail planes.

Image

Overall, very successful!

So for a change of pace, some decals on the upper and starboard side of the Vampire T.11

Image

Very impressed with the quality of the Airfix decals. Thin but robust. Well printed too.

Cheers

The Sea Fury being built in the current in the SKGB. Primed in white, as there will be some white recognition stripes for wings and rudder.

Image

Decals will be adapted from the Yanks With Roundels, Part 2 sheet

Image

Edit: did a second coat underneath!

Also sprayed yellow prop tips on the Sea Fury and a red spinner tip on the Hurricane. Not very productive today :omg

Corsair's camo it's unusual and really tempting!
Sometimes the talent consists exactly in that: try five dozen times when others stop at three dozen...! (F.Labelle)
I think that modeling is a subtle mix of zen philosophy and absolute crazyness - but in my case I would not dare to specify the respective percentage of each......

A bit of sky underneath the Sea Fury:

I'm also putting decals on the Hurricane, but Daddy Duties have called me away!

Filler applied where needed on the Eurofighter. Not as bad as I had expected, from the online build reviews. :)

Image

The tricky areas are at the front end under the cockpit. Everything else is fairly straightforward.

Image
Image

A test fit of the nose shows that there is a mismatch of the flange on the fuselage. This will need a bit of work to get the nose fitting properly.

The main work of the day was decalling the Hurricane. The first session went alright, but later on, I lost both serials, curled up into little balls like worried hedgehogs. One of the JX codes nearly suffered the same fate, although I was eventually able to coax it back into shape, albeit in three pieces

Image

I only did one of the rudder decals. It needs trimming before the other one goes on.
