Previously-built Bf109 Models

Post by JohnRatzenberger »

Here post 1-2 images of previous builds of Bf109 models. You do not have to be a member of this GB to do so.

If your model has a build thread on UAMF (old or new), then please include the link.

When I worked for Planes of Fame, I made a series of 14 models of the '109 illustrating the development of the type. These were put into a custom case in front of the real thing:

Apologies for the poor quality of the photos...

I built all the models in the case except for the Avia and Hispano.

109B, C, D, E-1, E-3 and E-4 from the Hobbycraft kits, the T from the MPM kit, F from the Airfix, G-2 and G-4 from Hobbycraft, G-6 from Fujimi, G-10, G-14 and K from Hobbycraft. This was back in the mid-nineties, so they were what was available and, more importantly, what was bought for me...!

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Contrary to popular belief, I DO build models of aircraft other than Spitfires! :ha:

1/72 Hispano Buchon - no idea what the kit was!

Frog 1/72 Bf109F-4

Airfix 1/72 Bf109G-6 in a somewhat spurious colour scheme (although similar to the one worn by Buchon G-BOML in 1990)

Airfix 1/72 Bf109E-4

Pegasus 1/72 Hispano Buchon

Matchbox 1/72 Bf109E-7
Image

Academy/Hobbycraft Hispano "Civilschmitt" - the normal Ha1112M1-L kit with option Battle of Britain movie decals. This one is in dire need of some TLC!

Almost all of these models were built wheels-up to hang from my bedroom ceiling many moons ago!
