Here's the Intakes - you can see the lack of Aux - intake detail. they're still not perfect, as the flaps are boxed in and you wont see the engine, but there a vast improvement on what came before.

And here's the seat...

Thanks ever so. Found them and placed an order for Cockpit stuff, intakes and gun pods.

I'm going stop reading about this kit on the internet, the more I read about the amount of effort others have put into it the more I think mines going to suck! Although to be fair I've picked up a few ideas for improvements.

I have to say the flightpath upgrade set looks good, as does the full Resin cockpit but I know if I bought it I'd hardly use any of it as I don't really like working with either. I'm really interested to see what I can do myself. Anyway, for the price of all those upgrades I could buy a 1/24 Sea Harrier to go with my GR.3.....But mind you that resin cockpit does look good....... :???:

Cheers

Its not like I'm flush, but my leccy bill was way below expected, so a bit of spare plus my my monthly allowance went on these bits. I got the GR3 for only about £15 a couple of years ago, so I reckon I could spend some extra on it.
Last months spare bought me the Sea Harrier from Jadlamracing models for £39.94. Well actually it was money saved for the new Tiffie, but I've changed my mind on it cos I prefer Harriers [& Hurricanes]

That's a good price for the Sea Harrier!

Don't worry Fred, I wasn't commenting on anything other than I'm tight :)

Actually I thought the Heritage stuff was pretty well priced - a full 1/24 cockpit for £18 is pretty good.

Cheers

My resin parts arrived just now. They look great. I'll have a proper study of them later.

Cool! looking forward to seeing them.

Are you going to build the wing removable and detail the engine bay?

I'll take it as it comes, if the wing can arranged to be removed easily I'll do it that way. As for detailing the bay, I dunno, I'm not too good at that. Maybe just a bit of detailing

That sounds about the same as me. And when I say detail I actually mean paint :) although I might add a bit of lead wire here and there.

I had a good look at the resin parts. They are excellent, nice surface and no pin holes to fill.
I'm thinking of adding lighting into mine. Battery powered LEDs. The switch could be one of the nozzles. But where to put the batteries?

How about in a fuel tank or rocket pod?

Possible. I prefer to use compact button batteries. A few might fit into a pod/tank.

I suppose I'd better set up a thread in the SB builds Forum - I take it we're all still up for this?
