Tim's Chipmunk **FINISHED**
With a simple colour scheme and low parts count this will be my first build.
As I've got a few days off work I'll be starting tomorrow afternoon at 4.00.

Re: Tim's Chipmunk *Started*
I was all ready for the off at 4.00.
Just under an hour later the fuselage and wings are assembled and the cockpit interior painted.
Apart from having to remove some injector pin marks from inside the wings things have gone well so far. A dry fit of the wing to fuselage joint showed that the fuselage needs narrowing to avoid having to spread the wings and the rear edge of the wings needs to be shortened a bit.
Next I'll be joining the wings to the fuselage and making a start on the crew.

Thanks for the comments.
After a few strokes with some wet and dry I was able to fit the wings.
I've made a start on the crew after removing the flash and the wheels have been painted too.

Not much progress since last time. The crew are nearly ready to get aboard. It looks like they could do with a bit of touching up (ooer missus ).
Meanwhile I'm still filling and sanding.
Hopefully I'll have the white bands painted before I go to bed.

Re: Tim's Chipmunk *Started*
I should think more major surgery would be in order than a little touching up!
Still, should save a fortune in shoe repairs.....
Coming along very well!

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Re: Tim's Chipmunk *Started*
Filling and sanding completed (hooray) and I've given it two coats of white for the fuselage/wings bands. It may need another coat but I'll do that in the morning. Time for bed now.
I think they've been getting legless in the Mess again.iggie wrote:I should think more major surgery would be in order than a little touching up!

Looks good so far, the Chipmunk is a perfect blitzer choice.
